In its mission to enhance employability of fresh graduates and aspiring teachers for induction into the technical teaching, NITTTR Chennai is commencing a Finishing School program. It is aimed to impart proper blend of technical and soft skills and orientation to teaching. This is being done under its series of Professional Development Programs targeted to graduates and newly employed professional teachers. The proposed program has been designed in consultation with experts in technical arena, technical institutions and for the requirements of nation capacity building. The program will enhance and sharpen the required skills and appreciation for technical teaching processes among the engineering Graduates. With focused and intensive training on communication and management skills, capacity for teamwork and appreciation of industrial processes NITTTR seeks to enhance their employability and provide quality manpower for the technical institutions.

Admitted candidates will be put through two weeks of interactive and practice sessions. NITTTR will provide a rich learning-centered environment, conducted by experts in the field and enough hands-on experience through carefully designed practice exercises.

The curriculum and syllabi for Finishing Schools designed and prepared by the experts from the academia with intensive input from various technical institutes and the stress is on making the students more suitable for teaching professional. This well planned curriculum will consist of proper blend of courses in technical subjects and soft skills.

Course fee is Rs. 5000/- (Includes lecture material, course kit, working lunch and refreshment). Limited accommodation in Hostel is available on payment basis.

Total Duration – Two Weeks
     - Technical Content = 70%
      - Soft Skills & Pedagogy = 30%

• 1. Students with under graduate or post graduate degree in Engineering & Technology should produce any one of the following for admission.
  • -Provisional Certificate or Course Completion Certificate or Letter from the Head of the Institution / Department from the institution last studied.
• 2. Teachers working in Polytechnics / Engineering Colleges should produce a proof of their employment.
• 3. Course Fee of Rs.5,000/- should be paid through a DD drawn in favor of “The Director”, NITTTR, Chennai payable at Chennai from any Nationalized Bank along with the filled in Application Form.
