Centre for International Affairs

Vision

  • Our vision is to establish global partnerships to deliver training programs and undertake collaborative academic and research activities with international academic and research institutions

Mission

  • At the Centre for International Affairs (CIA), we aim to implement closer international partnerships to enhance global engagement. Our mission is to promote, strengthen, and expand the institute's international collaborations, encourage faculty participation in research projects, and facilitate the seamless integration of international trainees into our environment

About CIA

  • The CIA oversees and coordinates all international activities at NITTTR, Chennai. Since its inception in 1978, the center has played a pivotal role in organizing training programs for overseas participants. These programs are fully sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) scheme. Participants in these courses include faculty members from schools and colleges, as well as researchers, administrative professionals, and HRD personnel from government agencies. Additionally, country-specific training programs are organized based on specific requirements. Training programs are offered in both online and offline modes, with durations ranging from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the requirements. On average, 8 to 10 programs are conducted annually.

  • In recent years, such tailor-made programs have been conducted for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Nigeria. In line with our mission, we recognize alumni who have distinguished themselves through their outstanding contributions, bringing pride to the institute. We also actively involve our alumni in educational and research activities by inviting them to participate as visiting faculty or guest speakers whenever possible.

Till date the institute trained over 3000 international participants from more than 100 plus countries
